Ok I have to get the vert on the road asap (don't ask why). I pulled a favor and got an 86 5.0 long block. The only bad thing is this thing has no cam, every thing but. So my question is do I have to run the stock cam in this thing? I don't know of any cam that will work with non-notched pistons. Right now I don't care about being all that fast I just need it for a DD.

If you have the stock heads, they are made to work with those pistons, etc.

You can call the cam companies and get some suggestions, but if you stay close to the stock lift and duration it should work.
