I have been coming to this site ever since i got my 98 gt back in september of 2010 and ever since then I have come here for advice. now i have a problem that i cannot figure out. my mustang sounds like its misfiring. i get that plopping noise when i take off but at a higher rpm it just goes to normal. I looked under the hood and saw the canister purge valve line was disconnected at the nipple on the throttle body. i put it back in but the line stayed sucked in. before that it was throwing up a p0136 and a p0141 so i tried new o2 sensors but that failed as i still got the code. I looked along the circuit for shorts and nothing was found. i checked the wires and nothing went wrong. the CEL went away bt only cause i used the sct tuner to shut off the rear o2s, but then later on i turned them back on cause it ran rich with the rears off.
My question is can the car misfire with those rear bank 1 sensor 2 malfunctioning?
what are the color codes for the left and right o2 sensor? blue and purple is what i see but how do i differentiate?
can a blue color coated o2 sensor go on the purple color coated o2 sensor if yout cut off the little prongs?
can this be a compression issue?
any advice will with much appreciated.
