Need some opinion on paint sheme and theme for my 68 fastback

I like the two tone idea alot. I agree with BLAKE about moving the divide up some, and maybe curve it down at the front and back to follow the curve of the fenders. This scheme looks awesome.

What kind of software do you use to do that kind of wheel chop and paint change?

I am currently using photoimpact but you can use photoshop to do the same.

You're definately on to something there. :nice: I think the separation of the two tone should be higher. Could you post a pic without paint mods (keep the new wheels though)? That way we can take a crack at it.

Here is the picture you asked for. I drew the two tone seperation at the crease to follow the fender and door line....... not to mention that the orange pin strip would look goofy any higher at the door.

I also removed my son. I have been plastering him without his consent.... I can see the lawsuit coming. Thank God he's only 6, I may be able to settle with him for a new XBOX game :D

Here's what I'm thinkin'.

Lighten the colors just a tad, and vary the width of the orange to add some character. It gets a little bit thicker at the hips, and narrows out a little at the nose. Some of the subtlety is lost in having to shrink down the file to post it here. Shoot me your email and I can send you the lager version. :)

I'm liking what Blake has myself. And I agree that something ought to be donw with the orange stripe. A friend has the F-150 100th aniv. Harley truck and the pinstripe on it had about a billion pieces of text that said Harley Davidson on it. Maybe try and get the orange stripe from Ford? I'm digging on the whole H/D Mustang idea though, get you a cool flatbed trailer with it painted the same color as the lower part of the truck with some polished wheels and it'd look bomb-diggity.

Not quite sure about the lighter colors???? It almost looks like the Nova (with the cherry theme) that Foose did on Overhaulin last night. Send me the larger pic at [email protected], maybe larger is better, but in any case I want to see what you have done with the stripping.

The main reason I went for the lighter colors was because the black wouldn't show much of the lines in photochop. The other reason is that I figured a charcoal-over-silver would look as good or better than a black-over-charcoal. I think the Cherry Nova is more of a white-over-champagne, but the red stipe does look a lot like what I was going for.

I'm home sick, so I thought I'd give it a try... someone mentioned RadRides and Foose... here's my RadFoose inspired version:

BTW, it's supposed to look a bit more champagne than silver, but I suspect my monitor isn't quite color accurate. The top should be "deep purple" or maybe the same as the "Purple Haze" that was used on early '90s Camaros.

If I was a purple kind of guy.... that would be nice. I also like the idea of no stripe at all.

Are you into pink?

My daughter would love it but my son would ABSOLUTELY refuse to ride in it..... not to mention that it defeats the purpose of creating the ultimate small block muscle car.... BUT as a sleeper or street racer I would have the advantage. I figure it would give me a goos 10 sec head start (at least until they would stop laughing)

or gold over pearl white...

Not to offend anyone, but I live in deep south Louisiana and it would look awfully ridiculous for a white boy to come out of a car that had purple or gold as a primary color. Eventhough they are the LSU colors, down here where I live, "them be some brother color", as I was told by one of my black patient, who is actually looking over my shoulder.
