Not to offend anyone, but I live in deep south Louisiana and it would look awfully ridiculous for a white boy to come out of a car that had purple or gold as a primary color. Eventhough they are the LSU colors, down here where I live, "them be some brother color", as I was told by one of my black patient, who is actually looking over my shoulder.
That ain't right, and this is coming from a white boy in Fort Worth. While purple might be a tad on the femenine side, I can think of plenty of cars that I'd roll in that have aspects of purple in them, whether it's a 96 or 04 mystic/mystichrome Cobra, or an 05 GT in Sonic Blue (that can look purple/indigo in certain lighting).
And you can't tell me there's anything "ethnic" about this badass gold Nova, just as an example.

Plaid or not, I bet that ugly ass piece of steaming crap will go for $10k or more, just so someone can make it even uglier by turning it into another Eleanor.
Lighten the colors just a tad, and vary the width of the orange to add some character. It gets a little bit thicker at the hips, and narrows out a little at the nose. Some of the subtlety is lost in having to shrink down the file to post it here. Shoot me your email and I can send you the lager version.
