Does anyone have a reference where I can find which bolt goes in which hole for my water pump? I have the bolts here but there are about three or four different sizes in length. I could take an educated guess at this point but would rather not. I'm still relatively new to the 302 and shouldn't have trusted my memory. Thanks - Andrew

Sorry man, I have a workshop manual for a 90 stang but it doesnt say. The newer ones have bolt sizes listed in the diagram cause I remember when I was putting a Taurus engine back together I just threw everything in a mag tray and when I put it back together, all the bolts for the front cover and water pump had a bolt size next to them. Must be something theyre only doin on the newer pubs.

I poke holes in a box to resemble the spot where the bolts came from and then I can just pull them out and put them back in in the exact same hole I took them out of. Takes all the guess work out and it doesn't take very long at all. Too late this time, but you might try that in the future

I don't know of any way to tell you to do it except to look carefully and see which ones go all the way into the block and which don't. I've had to do that before. If in doubt, you could try the longest bolts in all of the holes and if it doesn't push all the way in, then try the next longest.

Good Luck.
