Ive got my winter project all lined up. If got BBK Lowering Springs, and there Lower Control Arms, and im looking into a set of struts and shocks! Ive been looking at Lakewood drag shocks and struts but wasnt sure if it would fit well with BBK Lowering Springs. Ive heard that lowering the car isnt the best thing for drag racing, but i love the look of a lowered Fox Body. Would the Drag Shocks work well with the springs? Also, what is the best kind for me to get, i know theres 90/10 70/30 and 50/50 but im not sure what does what.. I only use my car for weekend joyrides, and want to keep it somewhat driveable, but i want it to have a killer launch at the strip, what ratio i guess should i look into??

You are going to mix-match your suspension. Long soft springs are what you want in the front. Firm in the rear is good. Do you have subframes yet?

I run lakewood 90/10's and 50/50's, but my whole suspension is drag.

I do not have subframes yet. So it would be OK for me to run 90/10 up front and 50/50 in back with the BBK Springs?

Yes, it would be OK, but not optimum. Do you allready have the springs? Thier controll arm package seems like a good deal, and those are definatly an imporvment. What are your goals with your car?

90/10's are over rated as being "race only" items, trust me, they are very streetable.

Yeah i already have the springs! My goals for the car are to be a low 12 high 11s in the 1/4. Im saving for a new engine, which will be a 347 stroker, and i'll have just a basic supercharger, most likely a Novi 1000. I figured i would just get most of the suspension stuff out of the way 1st. I dont want an all out Drag Car, by i do want it to perform at the track, as well as the street

If the funds permit I would get adjustable struts & shocks. I just went through this delima about stuts while doing my 5 kug conversion. I got the Tokico drag struts for the front and will get the shocks later when I get extra Hot-rod $$$$. I looked at the Lakewoods draga(70/30 & 90/10's), Strange adjustables, KYB adjustables, Koni adjsutable and the Tokico's. The KYB & Koni's are mainly for handling(stiffing up the suspension) and the stange & Tokico's were a mix of both. I got the Tokico's mainly for the ease of adjustment & the adjustment settings, over the Strange adjustables. The Tokico's adjust on the top with a small flat head, and the Strange have an external adjusting knob on the lower part of the strut. Also when you adjust the Tokico's , both rebound and compression are effected, on the Strange only one was effected(can't remember which exactly).

I found out that the stiffest setting(#5) on the Tokico drags is equalvilant to stock struts. So you kinda get best of both worlds, good street struts, and can loosen them up for the track, to be like a 70/30 or 90/10.
