Well heres the the deal,We have decided to go with the AOD for consistancey at the track and with the 4.10s my sons running it was the only option, we have one being put together as we speak, my tranny guy says it will be bullit proof, he guarantees it, hes regular at the track and has done several of these, but he cant answer my questions on install hes a builder not an installer, and hes also a gm guy, but weve know him for years hes knows what hes doing when it comes to getting top performance out of your tranny, we are running the T-5 in there now ,So what are we gonna need, will the A9L COMP work with the AOD?,drive line?and how about my pedals can I leave them for now or do they have to be swaped,I know the harness is a little different but will a 4 cyl car harness work for the aod tranny? and how about the flex plate all the ones Im seeing in the mags are 164 tooth were running a 157 tooth with 50 oz imbalance, will the 164 tooth work?and please can you guys recomend a good shifter that will fit in the stock location, oh one other thing the drine line will this need to be swaped as well? Please help want to get this right the first time.:Track: :SNSign:

the only info i can provide is i believe the B&M hammer shifter fits in the stock location... a friend of mine had one on his AOD stang.. but other than that, ive never tackled an AOD

actually, if you have the new summit, check out page 186.... the ones that it specifically states will fit a mustang AOD is: Standard Megashifter / standard quicksilver/ and actually the hammer doesnt say what it fits, so im guessing its a universal piece

pedals

just jump off the neutral saftey switches and then unbolt the clutch pedal the brake pedal will be a little smaler but will work just fine easier than swaping out the pedal assembly but if u really want to i have one let me know just pm me

You'll need an AOD crossmember and exhaust hanger. I'm actually swapping a T-5 in mine this weekend and getting rid of all the AOD stuff. send me a pm if you are interested in any parts

i believe you will need to switch to the aod computer......there was some dabate in here recently about why, something about different way the pins are wired for the neutral safety or something can fry it......but i'm sure someone else can give you more specifics, but i think the general rule is you can use the aod puter for either, but the 5 speed puter needs a 5 speed and it's assosiated wiring....
the above post about the pedal assembly is correct, you can simply un bolt the clutch pedal and put a spacer or some washers on the shaft and put the nut back on......
