So I've got my T5Z's tail shaft off at the moment to replace the speedo drive gear(my speedo was inop because the drive gears retaining clip came off). My question's are the new FMS gear has a flat side and a side that has a little bit of a lip on it. Which side goes towards the front? My book shows a C-clip behind the gear, but there wasn't one on mine and there's no groove for a clip to ride in. Is the C-clip supposed to be on it? And on the output shaft there was a rubber bushing just riding on the shaft. But it was on the smooth part of the shaft and it has internal splines. It doesn't look like it serves any purpose, and my book doesn't show it to be there anyway. Any ideas what it is?
