need spring advice

i think i will finally try & lose the 4x4 look, but i need some advice on springs. i am not looking for anything too drastic, cause there are some shi*** roads around here; considering steeda & frrp, but confused as to why the frrp's lower the front more than the rear? my front is already looks lower than the rear. also, is this a diy job or not really. any pics of your lowered stangs would be great too.

i just installed mac springs & they were exactly what i was looking for. nothing to drastic, but it definately got rid of the 4x4 look. i need to take some more pics of it, cause the pics i posted here still had the 4x4 look to them on the front especially casue i forgot to line up the springs in the a-arm. but i'll see if i can get some & post em for ya

Eibach Pro Kit, I think this is the best kit out there, as well as the h&r's. But they might be too low for you, so I say go with the Eibach's.

i have the bullit springs and shocks. it's about a 1 1/4" drop. looks like how it should from the factory. ride quality and handling are both improved. at about $350, it's good to the wallet.

Replacing the springs is not a tough job. Just think safety first. You will need a good floor jack and some jack stands. Front is simple jack up and support car inside of A Arms on crossmember with stands. Place jack under the A Arm as close to ball joint as possible. Remove tire, remove nut from top of strut, remove nut from stabilizer bar and remove bolt from brake line bracket. Let the jack down, you will still need to pry the spring out but most of the tension is already off of the spring. On the rear jack up car and support with stands in front of lower control arms. Put jack under axle and support while removing lower shock bolt, tires and bolt from brake line bracket. Let down jack and pry out springs. PS. I tried some after market springs and were not that impressed. I ended up cutting down my stock springs with the results I wanted. The front I cut one coil off the bottom about 1 1/2" drop. The rear I cut 1 coil off the top and reshaped the top coil with heat 1 1/2" drop. I think they ride better then the after market springs. There are a lot of springs to pick from I probably just got a crummy set. Hope this helps.

what about steeda sport? i am kind of partial to steeda, their stuff always seems to have good quality/fitment. i don't wanna go with frrp if it isn't an even drop all around.

My vote is for the Eibach Pro Kit. I have them on mine with 17's and I think it looks just right.

As far as the install goes, someone with minimal mechanical know how can do this job in 3 to 4 hours. Just follow the others advice about safety! Rent a good spring compressor and make sure the car is supported well. And definitely have it lined up after the install. Good luck.

the lower front looks better to me. It's not like the rear is jacked up. It is not drastic, just gets rid of the gaps in the fenderwells. I installed FRPP. If you want it to look a little lower but it not be lower, spend the $ 70 on a mach 1 chin spoiler.

I have c springs. I also installed chin spoiler. I will get some pics soon but I have to borrow a dig camera. Funny, I have $ 3000 + of camera equipment and work in the computer industry and don't even have a pic of my car in the computer.
