NO, but you could use the gears and carrier. The axle housing won't bolt up. You'd have to narrow it and re weld the mounting brackets off your factory rear axle to the Explorer one. Your best bet would be to just buy a 31 spline trac loc from FRPP. I think they're like 189. The only reason I say that is because chances are you'll pay that amount, if not more for a used Explorer axle with God knows how many miles on it and you'll want to rebuild it . Then you'll have to buy 31 spline Mustang axle shafts on top of that. I've got a part # for that FRPP carrier around here somewhere, I'll post back later if I can find it. If you can find a VERY LOW mileage Explorer axle for dirt cheap, (like $150 or less) I'd go for it, otherwise I'd just buy all new parts that way you'll know what you're working with.
