I need to change the extension housing bushing on my t5. the transmission needs to be rebuilt but i dont have the time place or money to do that right now. the tail shaft has to much slop and the seal is not doing its job anymore. Im planing on taking the extension housing off and getting it off, ford has a special tool and for changing it without taking off the housing, was wondering if anybody found anything similler or has any advice or tricks. thanks

You're talking about the metal bushing in the tailhousing? You can buy a tool to pull and replace it, but it's like $100. It has hooks to snag the bushing and a lip to help you tap the new bushing back in. I'd have to dig around for the part number again, tho.

I would just remove the tail house section. It's better to be very careful taking that pushing out. It's a steel bush in an aluminum housing that brakes very easily.
