i have a 96 gt mustang and i replaced the transmission with one from a 1998 cobra. i bought the speedo gear for the gears i have and put them in and it worked fine...well somehow some of the teeth chipped on my ring gear and it locked up my rearend. i had to put the stock 3.08's in for now until i can get my 4.10's. the question ihave is does anyone know how to fix my speedo. for this particular transmission they dont make a gear that gopes all the way down to a 3.08. they only make one for 3.27 gears. would the one for 3.27 be close enough to work or is there some other way to fix it???any help would be appreciated

so they dont make gear for this...i know the 19 tooth is for the 3.27. but they dont make one a tad smaller so i would only have to do that??i dont wanna spend that on a speedcal when i am getting 4.10 and would only have to get a gear. if i have ot i guess i would if there is no other way. (could i maybe just move the needle to reflect the change in speed??)

In the long run you're gonna need a SpeedCal anyway for accurate correction for the 4.10's but if you don't want to buy one yet you can do it just with a gear. The Cobra T-45 has a different drive gear in the tranny than the GT T-45 so unless that gear has been changed it's a 7-tooth. The closest VSS gear to match for 3.08 is a 17-tooth (part # C3DZ-17271-C) assuming you're still running a stock or near-stock tire (26" diameter). You'll still be off by just a smidge (2%) but that's as close as you can get without doing it electronically.
