I have a pieced together M2300K kit on my 92 (Cobra brakes ft and rear). I have a 93 Cobra MC and booster. The brakes have too much power, very little pedal pressure is required to stop the car. I lightly touch the brakes and it stops. I don't want to change the booster to a smaller one because of the effort it took to get the 93 Cobra booster in the car in the first place. So I'm thinking a smaller diameter master cylinder may help. This should reduce the pressure and increase the travel a little. Is this correct? Any suggestion as to which MC is smaller in diamter? I believe the 93 Cobra MC is 1" diameter, do any others have 7/8" or 15/16" bore and the same fitting sizes at the 93 Cobra?

Did you happen to get the adjustable proportioning valve that comes with the 2300 kit? Sounds like maybe you just need to tweak that a bit and if you don't have one you might want to put one in and see if you transfer a bit more to the rear instead of the front.

I have the adjustable proportioning valve and have gutted the stock valve. I originally used the 93 Cobra MC with the stock booster and it was under powered so I put on the 93 Cobra booster and now it is overpowered. I believe the adjustable PV is set correctly. The rear locks up just after the front.

I guess I didn't explain what I want very well. I want to change it so I have to apply more pressure to stop the car. Right now the weight of my foot on the pedal stops the car. It is like it's over boosted. Sometimes I forget and apply "normal" pressure on the pedal and it almost locks the wheels up.

I think 63bird is on the right track. A larger diameter is going to create less pressure and cause you to have to push the pedal harder. By hard pedal I think he meant having to push it harder.

MikeC,

I replied to your thread on corral as well.

Yes, increasing the MC bore will make your pedal less sensitive.

I know you don't if you want to, but putting the stock booster back in would also increase pedal effort. The whole cobra vs stock booster has been debated many times. I would suggest a search.

I beleive 94-95 GT's use a 1 1/16" bore.

93 Cobras use a 1" bore

94-95 Cobras use a 15/16" bore.

Try swapping the cobra unit out for a 94-95 GT/V6 unit

I used the stock booster with the 93 Cobra MC for several months. It was impossible to lock the wheels up. And I may never be able to get the 93 Cobra booster back out of the car, it did not want to go in there.

I think I may be stuck because it looks like I want to different things.

1 - I want to increase the pedal stroke - smaller bore MC to move less fluid.
2 - I want to make it less sensitive - larger bore to decrease fluid pressure.
