Ok my junk reman 302 just bothers the crap outta me like its gonna explode anyday so I have made up my mind I am going to go stroker!!! Now i had my mind set on a 331 basicly cuz everyone downed the 347 due to the problems it had when it FIRST came out.. I now hear that they fixed the oil ring/ wrist pin problem so I would rather go bigger than 331 to the 347. So of the companies i know DSS CHP and Dart who builds the best short block for under 3 grand? thanks guys and please now fighting over the 347's previous problems I am more concerend on the companies...

stroker

I went with the 347 kit from eagle. I got forged pistons and rods but I don't think the crank was forged.

I used the stock block and had it bored .030 over knotched etc etc, and the shortblock was completely assembled and I even had them put the heads on. The shop I got through got about $2400 for all the parts plus labor. I could dig the bill out if you want more specifics.

Compression is at 10.4 to 1 with the flat tops and the cc heads that I use, tfs track heats.

got a trickflow stage 2 cam and r series intake to compliment. May opt for a custom if you can spend the cash. I may get one in the future.

So far so good, no problems as of yet. Piston to valve clearance checked out really good, .085 to my surprise.

Guy at the shop said that was great, he usually wants at least .060 so good to go there.

Did have to get a billet flywheel for balancing reasons, so that was $300, but again that was in the $2400 total.

good luck

I can try to ask any other questions ya might have.
