Hey guys I was just wondering what a good combo of parts would be to run mid-low 14's I plan to add more, but just for the time being to beat my friends Camaro.
On a stock 90 Gt.

well here are some things pullies ,cold air kit, gears, intake ,drag radials just to tell you your car with a good set of tires like drag radials should be able to get you in the low 14's or lower so i would try that first

Well, is your car an auto or a manual?

Mid to low 14's can be achieved fairly easy.

First mod I believe any stanger should do is GEARS! A lot or racers refer to gears as the "Poor Mans Supercharger" because the car will feel 10X better after a healthy set of gears. Depending on your driving style I would say go with 3:73's with a manual and 4:10's with an auto.

Next, do all the free or near free mods:

1. Bumb up the timing... base is 10* go to about 14*
2. Remove air silencer and drop in a K&N filter
3. Weight Reduction! Take off anything you can live without that doesnt effect the drivability of the car.

There are probably more but I cannot really think of them right now.

Find a way to get the traction issue at bay with I.E. Drag radials, Slicks, subframe connectors, etc.

ALWAYS REMEMBER, the best mod to ANY CAR is a good driver. I've seen cars with the power to run 11 seconds run 14's because of the simple fact the driver doesn't know what he is doing. So practice practice practice.

With good driving and the mods listed, 14's are possible... for low 14's you might want to look into exhaust, pullies (those are debateable), maybe a ported lower from t-moss. Just a little something to give you a boost!

Hope this helps

uummm... if its a 5 spd it should do it stock pretty much!

I pulled a 14.42 at 98mph with a 2.2 60 ft at gateway in st.louis with an 89 GT convertible 5 spd with 2.73 gearing. mods? Cold air intake and electric cooling fan. Thats it!!! Didnt have the timing bumped either. Full weight full tank of 87 and me driving.

My definition of a "poor man's supercharger" is a 150 shot of N20. You can get a good kit for about 500 bucks and install it yourself. Forget 14's, you'll be in the 13's.

Id say get the little stuff outta the way first. Lets face it, your gonna be doin most of this stuff down the road anyway, so why not now. wieght reduc is a help. Cutouts and some stickies on the back. Id say that should have you there no prob. I dunno if I missed it, but whats the ideal budjet here?

your car should be running damn near 14's as it is. if not, a set of 3.73's and some good tires should put you there

you can get gtech meters on ebay for 30$ that will give you a good approximation of what your car will run, they work pretty good, not perfect but good, then run it and see what it does! add something then do it again, stop just wrenching and start TUNING, that way you know exactly what each mod is worth,

but yeah, practice, pulleys, gears, some good tires, low 14's not problem, maybe 13's if your a sick driver and your car is reasonably light

Why doesn’t anyone take elevation into account? Don’t want to sound like a dick, the mods these guys gave you are a sure way of making power. Depending on where you are from, some of these mods won’t break your mustang into the 14s. I live at 4500 ft of elevation and mildly modified mustangs run low 15s to high 14s, SS camaros run low 14s to high 13s(just a comparison). Just don’t want to build your hopes up and have them shot down at the track. Whatever modifications you do choose good luck on reaching your goals.
