Valeo is one of the largest manufactures of clutches. If your Mcleod says Valeo on it, they are probably reusing a stock pressure plate for the application. Most stage 1 and 2 clutches just reuse the factory pressure plate regardless of manufacturer. Centerforce, and Hayes always reuse the factory pressure plate, but Centerforce just puts a line of stupid weights on it.

Doing 6000 rpm launches may be too much for that clutch. I never had any trouble with my King Cobra, but I wasn't launching at 6000 rpms. It might be time to step up to s SPEC 3 or something like that. I have already blown one of those up two though. They are not indesctructable, but they have dramatically improved the design over the one I blew up.

My pressure plate is a king cobra but the disk is a mcleod and says valeo on it. This combo is rated at 500hp. I got it all from d&d perf. Its very similar to the combo killercanary is using but he said his pp is a balanced/blueprinted FMS HD I think. Is it the same disk, killer? Did yours say valeo on it? You couldnt pay me enough to use a spec clutch Well, maybe you could, everything has its price

Pro Motion color codes their PP with paint, so I didn't really see anything marked on it. I didn't look all that hard though and the clutch was in the car before this thread came up. As for spec... I'm with you. I have driven them, I have seen them break things in other people's cars... I'll NEVER own one, even if it was free. At least not after driving my car all day yesterday with this setup. I'm LOVING it. I'm not sure what your disc looked like, but here's mine...

Flywheel side...

PP side...

I noticed NO chatter yesterday at all, I am able to slip it out unlike many of the other HD clutches out there, and the pedal effort feels like half of what it used to. I put 120 miles on it yesterday and it was a joy to drive.

When I had my flywheel resurfaced the place asked me if I ran the car hard because the flywheel was warped bad enough to only allow about 1/3 of the clutch to fully engage. So its no wonder I had issues on the launch. After they told me this I went home and looked at my old disc... check this out and look at how worn it is on the outside diameter of the disc compared to the inside...

My disk looks nothing like that on the flywheel side. I guess ours are different What brand is yours?

Wow, your fly was definatly warped I wonder with this new clutch combo and fresh fly if you'll go faster? Your car already defies logic LOL
