I'm going on week 2 of ownership on my 89gt vert and learning what has been or has not been done to the car. Current set up as far as I can tell is
a stock engine other than the Edelbrock performer 5.0 intake. I don't know if thats ever been touched. I have not looked to see if airbox still has silencer in it or not or even what filter it has. The exhaust consists of a o/r h-pipe, dynamax cat back and stock headers. Gears are 3.73's with the 5sp'd. The car also came with a spare U/L Cobra intake, 24lbs. injectors and TB. Not sure what size the TB is. Now for the questions:
1) How can I find out what size the TB is? Can I just mic. it out and convert to MM's? (same with MAF)
2) Do injectors come color coded to reflect what #'s they are? The one's in the car are yellow (assuming stock, not sure) and the 24's are blue. does this sound right?
3) Which intake would I be better off with, Cobra or the Edelbrock performer 5.0?
4) Am I fine with running the stock MAF, TB and injectors with either intake or would it be wise to go with some larger stuff?
5) would I see any gains with a larger MAF,TB and injector and would a tune be in order ?
Sorry for the list of question's But I would like to get it resolved all in one thread.
