I have been having starter issues now for a while (in that the car will not start or even turn over). I have gone through almost every part of the ingnition system and either verified that it is working correctly, or replaced it. The only thing I have left at this point it the Neutral Safety switch, and I have thus far not been able to locate it on the transmission. I have a C6 Automatic and I believe the transmission is either a 70 or a 71. Any input on where it is and the best way to get to it would be greatly appreciated.

I`m not sure on the C-6

but on the C-4 its where the shift linkage comes out the side of the tranny. Should be the only thing with electrical wires running out of it.

You should be able to loop the wires at some point to bypass it. That's what I did when I switched from an auto to a manual.

Your info might help

I realize this is an ancient thread, but if you are still around I'd love to know if that worked since I am having a similar problem in my '69. Ws your problem the neutral safety switch? Thanks.
