New 04 Lightning popping noise in the front end making tight turns?

We made a u-turn turning the wheel all the way and noticed that when you turn hard either way at 5 mph or less to do a u-turn type turn, you hear popping sounds from the front end. Any ideas what this is! Its brand new! Sounds like clicking or like metal to metal popping. It also pulls a little to the right and Ive checked air pressure. We are just driving it around pretty easy and putting some miles on it. I dont think this noise is normal or good. Sounds like the right front but pops in either direction when turned hard. Thanks for any help or clues. I will take it to the dealer next week.

I believe there is a fix for this avail. from Johnny Lightning..
Do a search.
it might be JDM engineering.
cant remember.
I had it on my 01 Lightning..

That sounds sort of like ball joints.

Im pretty shure ford has a TSB on it call the dealer.

Sounds like your steering stops need some grease. Some L's have been known to have what has become to be known as "the clunk" but from your description, I think it is simply the stops.

My '01 L did it too. It's either the stops need grease or you need the clunk washers fix. Since it's new I would think it's grease, the other one shows up after about 5k usually.

I had a 02 f150 xlt that did the same thing. I just traded it in on a 04 lightning and the lightning still does the same thing.

I had a 01 and it was doing the same thing,I took it back to the dealer 3 time the first time they just tighten up all the front end bolts,but that did't work so the next time they told me somebull,went back again and this time the dealer replaced the lower control washer w/teeth and hex nut,heres the part #w707896-s427 and n800237-s427
