Went to union grove last night and it was a good night for racin. The track was sticky for a change and the air was cold. I dont know the technical stuff like elevation but it was a good night. Are these right on for my mods  .

Timing at 10* and FP at 43psi, Street tires and full weight convertable.

My best was a
r/t------.005
60------2.214
1/8-----9.289
mph----76.89
1/4-----14.393
mph----96.27

I got an extra 2 mph out of the car by upping the fuel pressure until i then lost 1 mph, so I dropped the pressure and ran me best. Too bad it was my best and I was going against a nova or something that ran 10.2 @ 133. LOL.

And my last run was against a civic hatch that was running 12.2's on slicks off the nitrous. He absolutely kicked my ass. So I was done for the night.

Unfortunately our friend with a Trans am crashed his car mid track. He sprayed out of the hole, lost control somewhere after the 1.8 mile. The car didn't shift so he got on the brakes and lost it right into the wall. Got a 12.0 @ 89 at the quarter with a banged up hlemet after his head smashed into the glass. There is a reason why they make us wear helmets.

Anyways, mods ar in my sig. Hopefully I can get the video camera and upload the vids.

Nice to hear that track was finally sticky, I stopped going there last year because the track prep and crew were horrible.

I ran 14.15@96 at GLD last year with intake, MAF, TB, 3.73's and full exhaust.

Wow those are good times. Do you really have stock exhaust or is it just not in your sig. Seems like your doing good for just and intake, pullies and gears.

I ran 14.4 at 96 with my AODE with everything in my sig except the ported lower and the 80mm MAF. I'm hoping those two things will drop a couple of tenths next time I run it. We shall see.

I was up there last night with my car but I didn't race, I was helping my buddy in his with his white hatch. The car looked decent down the track and that honda was ****ing moving. Sounded like crap though. Anyways I think that is a decent time considering a drop top. I have one too and it sux that we weigh so much. Sorry to hear about your buddy too I saw that but I am glad he is ok.

I ran a 14.3 at 97.2mph with intake/tb/3.73's/pulleys/headers/xpipe/mufflers with a 2.08 60'. Now here's the good part... I added a homemade CAI and a set of nitto DR's and ran 13.83 at 98.55mph! Go get some DR's and see what happens for you.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. And year Rude, its about time I go to the track with actual mods. :D

My exhaust consists of hedman o/r h-pipe and slp catback. Im hoping that an actually muffler will give me a little more torque. That and the BBK's should help out.

I did notice that the tko600 is going to take some more practice with the longer first gear. But I am launching very consistant with this trans whereas the stock t-5 with a 3.27 first gear ratio was spin city. First time at the track since 3rd took a crap on me. So I was pretty stoked. My aim was to get a 14.5 and thats it. I started with a 14.7 my first run. And then raised my launch to 3000 rpm, dropped the tire pressure, and added a little fp and 3 runs later I got my 14.3.

And zenboy, I was very surprised when I bogged out of the hole on the first launch. I basically popped the clutch at 2600 rpm and it hooked. Every other run I slipped it. But byron is still my favorite track. Its prepped every time im out there and the track officials are cool. The guys at GLD kick you to the back of the pit lanes if you cut in front of people to race your friends. That is of course after asking people if you can get in front of them. Not a big deal but when they let the bikes race every 2 seconds and stop the guys in the pits it really gets annoying.

And who has a link to one of those home make CAI kits where you go to home depot and get everything. I think Ill do one this week. What air filter do you need. I have a k&n in the stock air intake, will that work?

Greendrop, serious opinion, if you saw me run, how bad does the exhaust sound. I hate it so much now but ive never heard it from behind the car.

I actually have a chrome moly driveshaft. That including the tko is actually slowing me down a few tenth's not helping. Plus if I can get my 60' down to at least a 2.0 I could be running 14 flat maybe better with CAI and drag radials as Paul experienced. Plus this was my first time at the track with the new setup so I was still shakey at the line. Im not all too confident in my launch.

So next time Im going to byron and Ill have the LT's on and hopefully that will get my a 14 flat.

Rio, what was your buddie's trap speed, just curious.

not bad, but you can deff. do better. My buddy has a 95 vert with 3.73, pullies, CAI, exhaust and ran 14.2's with street tires. He didn't have a edel. performer, alum. ds, or aftermarket tranny either. Good job though.

With those exact mods minus the CAI I ran 14.6 at 94.89mph FWIW Numbles, the intake, TB, and headers too me to the 14.3 at 97.2.

I shifted at 5500 with the intake and stock heads, that worked best for me.

My shift points for the runs were around 5700 for 1st to 2nd. And for everything else I was shifting anywhere from 5200-5400. Would upping my shift points to 5500 all the time help maybe  . And will upping the timing to 14 over 10 really make that much of a difference. Ive played with it before but never really felt any SOTP feeling.

Dude try something out,it just might help you,it did me.Your motor is pretty much stock, try shifting at 4900---5000.Just try it,it mite get you a few tenths :nice:

I garantee you'll slow down if you shift it at 4900-5000. If you didn't have the intake, maybe. BUT, like willys said trying it can't hurt... your tach could be off, etc and it could help.

Going from 10* to 14* took me from a 15.02 at 91mph to a 14.96 at 91.5mph. This was on different days, but the car definitely picks up a little with the bump.

Same here,,I went from 10--14 degrees, and picked up a tenth. Then I tried it on 16 degrees and it pinged like a b@sterd :notnice: Some guys do it with no problem though.I bet if I through a few gallons of power mist in the gas tank(racing gas) it would work.
