new challenger, can you say...hemi powa!

ok guys, our local welder, and a good friend, just picked up a new challenger. Okay-so-big deal. He said it isn't much....YET... He told me that he's going to make it look real old-school. like, 15" rims!

I'll keep you guys posted on this one, this should turn out to be one heluva car.

Be interesting to see how it works out.

I haven't driven a "new Hemi" car as yet.... have spent 10 days during each the last 2 February's in Hemi-powered RAM Quad-Cab 4x4's; in 2007 I had a 1/2-ton with the "STX4" off-road package, this year it was a 2500 series with STX4.

The 1/2 ton was a real hot-rod with 4.11's - locker in the rear that ate a few thousand off the back tires in 413 miles of driving. The '08 3/4-ton had 3.73's; it could get up and go pretty handily without all the smoke in the rear fenderwells. Did very little trailer-towing with either truck (contract said I wasn't supposed to do any towing, but wellll.....); moved a horse trailer and a largish travel trailer with the 1/2-ton; couple good-sized travel trailers with the 2500. Both seemed to have no trouble.

Gas mileage? Put it this way; I used to BEE EYE TEE SEA AITCH about the "lousey" mileage in Mrs StDr's 2002 Quad-Cab with the EFI 360 and a 3.56 rear-end. I began to "back off" on the complaints after driving the Hemi 1500 in 2007. After this past February with the 2500 - I just shut the h*** up and thank God the 02's as good as it is!

He won't fit 15" wheels on it due to the brakes. Nice cars otherwise.
