The XB is awesome on gas, and it has plenty of room. I beg to differ on your comment that they are good for nothing but fleet duty. They have a community just as large as ours.

unfortunatly most focus's make it to fleet duty

I wish ford would hurry up and bring there euro stuff here. I'd like a Fiesta

They should bring the Focus RS over.

GM is having a tough time with their Aussie V8 cars. They brought the GTO over and it was dead in 3 years. They brought the G8 over and GM has already said it's getting killed off.

Ford should bring it's 4-banger turbo AWD RS over...they'll sell every one!

Hell yes the Focus RS is bad ass!!!

I do like the G8 GT though. I'd buy one in a heartbeat if i could afford it. I didn't see that they were going to kill it off at all????

I dunno if i could drive an xB as a daily driver. I mean i'm sure it's a fine car, but i would get bored fast.

I've had my new DD for a week now...and I absolutely love it.

sick, I love the Infiniti's. Please tell me you got the 6-speed. I've ridden in a couple but they were both autos. Nice plate too.

My DD is an '05 WRX, love the thing. I've put ~45k trouble free miles on it in less than 2 years. I only use Mobil 1 and try not to beat it. I only bang the gears every once and a while. Mine's definitely been off the rev limiter, didn't spin a bearing sounds like you were unlucky nisreo. I won't powershift the thing because I need it.

what about the subaru headgasket problems? they add stop leak as a recall. im not sure if its all newer engines or just the 2.5's but both my engines had the same fate. so my subaru is gone. if it was reliable.... i would still have it. i loved that thing...

I did have a Mark VIII, it was my DD before the WRX. It was in ok shape, I was having electrical problems with the air-ride, it was burning tons of oil, and the trans was leaking fluid, not to mention small things like the wipers would stop working on their own and the pass window wouldn't go up on it's own all the time. I was tired of spending my weekends fixing things. Also needed something dead nuts reliable going from school to work at the time. It was a great car, and I would love to get another one someday. But it would be a tough ride in the winter. I bought it for $2000 and traded it in for $2500 for the Subie, so I was happy.

Unfortunately, i wanted the AWD model...so i got stuck with automatic.

But since i gotta sit in 2 hours or rush hour traffic each day..i don't mind. My last non-Mustang daily driver was a Mark 8...it was fun but it sucked in the snow. I wanted something i could plow through snow with this time around, so i went with an AWD G35x

I thought you could get the MT with the AWD?? That sucks, but I can't blame you with the traffic.

You'll have a lot of fun with the AWD in the snow, I know I do.

the hell is wrong with jeeps? my dad has had nothing but wranglers almost his whole life and has had no problems. brother had a grand cherokee with 255k, moms got a gc limited 100k, and other bros got a gc 120k, and no major problems. jeeps are comfy as hell and will pretty much go anywhere through anything.

Glad you've had good luck with jeeps
I never said anything was wrong with them. just said that i would never buy one for a DD. the only jeep i would consider would be a 4.0 5 speed cherokee, the 4.0's are reliable. I have driven lots of jeeps especially newer ones and as far as comfort, mpg, style, price and resale value there are better options out there.
jeep is trying to appeal to a bigger crowd that isn't based on trail riding and rock crawling

Oh well.

Nope. Not yet at least. 5-spd Auto with manual shift is the best you can do.

AWD + Snow = FUN!

I had a 95 Grand Cherokee LTD in High school. Truck had electrical problems and the tranny went, but was comfy, an animal off road and in bad weather, and ran great (5.2 AWD combo)! Depending what your looking for in a DD Jeeps arent bad... but if your looking for MPG and dont need to move around in bad weather or rough terrain, NOT for you. Reliable trucks though, with the 4.0, especially with the 5-speed.

Luxury sedans are where it's at though.

No one is going to suggest the '06 up Civic?

GF and I got an '06 Si Coupe for her DD and love it. Been great for reliability and quicker than she needs. It does suffer a "notchy" 3rd when cold but hasn't gotten any worse, I believe they have an improved synchro on '09 up 6 spd cars.

I'd buy the car again hands down.

Also had an '07 Ford Fusion AWD as a company vehicle for a couple of months and loved it. Thought the car was one of the best sedans Ford has made in a long time. It was solid, quick and impressive on gas for a V6.
