well i just ordered my new engine for my n/a 2001 gt. it has a gt crank, manley forged connecting rods and cp17cc dished pistons. i'll be using total seal rings and pro bearings all around with a cobra oil pump and pick-up. this is all going together with patriot heads and the comp cam 270s. my questions are...

1. what kind of opwer could i expect from this? will i break the 300 mark? i made 260 without the heads and cams before...

2. what rpm can i safely run this new engine up to?

3. will this be enough power to bring my gt into the 12s or street tires with my 3.73 gears with some practice at the track?

arrrg, no forged crank??? :nonono: forged rods and pistons are great, but if your cranks stock your HP limit is still in the 400's, and your RPM's are limited as well. as for a redline, it depends on what your valvetrain is built out of, and how brave you want to get with that GT crank. a great harmonic balancer, lightened flywheel, aluminum drive shaft, and a chip with a lot of dyno time will also help greatly. as for your HP gains, depends on your compression, did you increase, decrease, or keep the 9.4cp? a HUGE factor is what kind of intake you're going to put on those heads. many people slap stage 2 or 3 heads with cams on their modulars, and cant figure out why they lost torque and only picked up 30-40hp. if you have money to blow, see if u can grab a foxlake (are they out yet? i stopped following them when i saw the price), if not, save your pennies and get a bullit with the accufab one peice TB. it takes serious coin to make good N/A HP from a modular.
