There's another post just 10 down from this one. Something about wasting a Monte Carlo?
Yeah and guess who the big, bad power tripping mod was that 88blacklx was complaining about, who closed it.

What's your point there? It's not like i'm out there preaching that Stangnet should support street racing.....

Chill Dave, I'm quite sure he was referring to 88blacklx with that post, not you.

And just so you don't assume otherwise, me closing your thread wasn't personal. I see a street racing thread, I close it. It's the rules, it’s my job. And for the record, the decision to close these types of threads wasn’t something we Mods and Admins cooked up on our own, it came right from the horse’s mouth, MRaburn himself. His site, his rules....PERIOD!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m no hypocrite. I've personally lined them up myself in the past and probably way back when I was a newb and still had my 5.0L LX, I think I even created a street racing thread about it. But with the medias new attraction to publicizing outcomes gone awry and the recent crack down with law enforcement issuing harsher penalties for taking part in these "friendly jaunts" it's in everyone’s best interest that we shut these threads down, before they gain any momentum.

I know from personal experience that Johnny Law surfs a lot of these car sites, and with the legal precedent being set as of late, so don't be surprised if one day he comes looking for you with a piece of paper with your internet story telling history in one hand and a court summons in the other.

Guys....we're all getting worked over nothing. I'm seriously not offended at all other than people kinda need to relax! It's a simple case of not knowing any better and now i do and it's really all good.

As for the police...well that's another story. It's one thing to talk about life and another thing to prove it. I can make a thread about smoking a Lamborghini but that doesn't make it true!

As for taking it personal, i never did, and i actually was more just unsure about why it was closed and wasn't going to say anything until this thread came up. Really, it's all good and i'm not upset with anyone :D

Kind of like the guy who posted the video clip of himself driving over 300km/hr on the interstate in his Ferrari F40. The video showed nothing more than the windshield view of the road and a close up of the speedometer....but he got burned down HARD by the Law Enforcement Officals, regardless of his denial of the event.

I'm not going to get into specifics with my own experience, but things said by yourself on here most certainly CAN be used against you, if they see fit to pursue it. So with that I say watch what you write....the last thing any of us want to find out is that something we've said in passing in a meaningless internet thread has come back to haunt us later on down the road.

i think we need to take a vote around here and have some rule modifications. I just saw a thread closed because of someone talked about a street race. C'mon really, there is no reason that thread needed to be deleted. Stangnet needs to have a revamp in the mod department and rule department. This is rediculous. Whats the big deal about someone mentioning that they raced a car stoplight to stoplight. How is that hurting this website? I dont see how or why there needs to be a thread closing and a rule about no threads about street racing. It has nothing to do with the people of the board. Stangnet has the best group of people and 5.0 talk section by far. But with these rediculous rules and power trip mods, its gettin ruined. Anybody else agree:shrug:
NO.

Coming off like a kid who just had his xbox 360 taken away is not a good way to bring about change.

No, it is not a good way to bring about change, but i don't think he did anything wrong, just voiced his opinion, correct me if I'm wrong of course. I don't think the punishment fit the crime in this case, maybe a closed/deleted thread for being in the wrong place but a ban?

Thread & issue closed. Post #4 sums it up.

The thread starter received a short reprieve from access due to an infraction of the site ToS. He shall be granted permission to return on 11-07-07 at 02:27 PM (server time).
