We just got back from taking Jupiter to live with my brother in California. Somewhere along the line we developed a 4 cat rule. There must 4 cats in the house at all times, otherwise it just seems too empty.

So we visited the Sedalia animal shelter (where we got all our other cats) but nothing there really cried out "take me" (well, all of them did, but none really seemed to have enough personality to fit in at our house). So we decided to look at the Warrensburg animal shelter. We'd been there several years ago but weren't impressed with the care of their animals so we normally woudn't even consider them but for some reason we decided to check them out.

We weren't even there for 5 minutes and we'd found the perfect kitty. She started reaching out and attacking me through the door of the cage and threw herself at the door when the worker came up. Apparently she was adopted once but brought back because "she was too wild".

She's about 3 months old and other than being a tiny bit thin and having some serious food aggression (I've never really seen that in cats before), she's in pretty good health.

We named her Scout and so far she's fitting in pretty good. Tennessee took an immediate liking to her and is treating her like a little baby sister. They're actually so much alike it's almost scary. I forsee them getting into lots of trouble together. Romeo is jealous because Tennessee was his best buddy but he'll get over it. And Emily is just hissing and keeping her distance, but she's actually doing better than she did when we introduced Romeo & Tennessee.

Yup. As crazy as it sounds, the house just seems too empty with only 3 cats.

That cat looks awesome, I love cats.

We used to have a cat that was agressive about food, would come home and when you went to the kitchen it'd be all nice and friendly and meowy, you know, the "feed me" friendly. Since it wasn't my cat I used to walk away, but as time went on it started chasing me down the hall, getting in front of me and swiping and my shins while sounding out that mournful, hostile cat wail.

Her name was Ollie, short for Ophelia.... Ophelia *****.

LOL. I don't even have to take him hunting. All I have to do is invite him over for dinner.

OMG Chelle you may be the new owner of our Ollie, she looked similar to Emily, but more tatty, it didn't seem to care too much about its appearance.

Awww ... I love your kitties!! We have four, too ... couldn't image not having all of them. When my daughter moved out she took one with her, and then brought her back (couldn't stand cleaning the box).

I STILL don't believe Emily is all that evil, I think she's just misunderstood.

She reminds me of our 16-year-old cat, Patches. The coloration is wrong - our's is white with black.....patches. (Okay, so we didn't put a lot of thought into naming her ) Patches was considered the meanest, wildest cat on our block. She'd lay out and wait for the local family of mockingbirds to "dive-bomb" her, then catch and eat them. She at the Koi out of our neighbors pond, ran off a couple of other cats, even "killed" a Cocker Spaniel Okay, the dog was 20 and officially died of heart failure after Patches rode him (on his back) back to his house; at least he wasn't leaving little doggie land-mines on the neighborhood yards anymore, and the owners kept his replacement in their own yard!

Nowadays, Patches spends her life on either Jessie's bed, our bed or the back of the living room couch (all of which are "Off-Limits" to the dogs); begging to be petted. She was just misunderstood, too!

EDIT: NK - I'm gonna change your cat's name to "Spooky" She keeps coming out, begging for attention; but when you bend down to pet her, she scoots off and hides under Matt's bed
Darn cat.

We think she's a purebred ragdoll. We can't prove it because she was picked up as a stray at the shelter, but she matches the standard really well and there is a ragdoll breeder in the same town that she was picked up in.

I also think Romeo is a purebred turkish van from something like a kitten mill. He matches his standard perfectly except his tail is mostly white instead of colored. When I adopted him, he was 1 year old and declawed but not neutered - why else would someone go to the trouble of declawing but not neuter him? And he was not a very well behaved cat like he hadn't been a pet. He's getting better, but my vet still hates him.

I couln't imagine giving my cats back to anyone or moving w/o taking them with me. It was hard enough giving Jupiter back to my brother, but they really missed eachother. We told her a couple months before we left that she was going to see her daddy and after that she kept sleeping in one of the carriers. Then when we had all his stuff piled in the living room before we got the trailer, she would stay with the pile.

STILL don't believe Emily is all that evil, I think she's just misunderstood.

She's really just seriously bo-polar. If she were a person, she'd be on medication. She can be happy & loving one minute, and the next be sinking her teeth and claws into your had w/o any warning. I'm wondering if this is a ragdoll trait because a friend also has a ragdoll and his is the same way.
