i want to keep my 19# injectors, but if i upgraded to a better MAF, that was calibrated for 19's, would i see any power increases, and any Fuel Milage Decreases???

Thanks
Matt

Do it, Pro-M 77MM or 80MM should get a few more ponies. You could probably get away with 19's on the soon to come mods you got listed in the sig.

would it hurt my fuel milage that bad? I'm going to build up an explorer motor, but in th e meantime i'm gonna add some bolt ons to my car. I dont wanna do anymore than 19# for now, maybe 19#s with a bigger fuel pump.

I think you would pick up a little gain for sure.

I'm not a believer in tb & maf upgrades until you are moving a good bit of air through the motor. Too much money for too little gain. I got pretty close to 300 with the stockers.

Unlike the fox bodies our tb/maf is larger thus the gain will be smaller when upgraded.

Looking at your plans, I would put the tb/maf money on some headers. Just looked at your plans again ...... forget the headers ...... put the money on the gears.

Get the gears now you'll love em!

What are worried about gas mileage for? You own a 5 liter pushrod V-8. It's not a civic. Gas mileage should be better I would think though.

You will get way more smiles to the mile with the gears than a maf.

gears aren't going to hurt your fuel milage unless your speeding on the highway. on the street with a 5 speed your not going to loose any gas milage.

maybe you shold hold off on the modding then. If your worried about a bigger MAF loweing your gas mileage then stop there b/c it get alot worse

realisticly you can do a bigger MAF, Pullies, Better Intake and a O/R H pipe and you wont really see your MPG decrease. I went from no power adder and getting 200-230 miles out of a tank to the same mileage w/ adding a supercharger 3.55 gears and 30 LB injectors. Reason why is b/c I did a tune up on the car, new 02 sensors, new fuel pump and new fuel filter. I am seeing the same miles per tank before when it needed a tune up as I am now w/ a Superchager #30 injectors and 3.55 gears ( all depending on how much I get in the boost) Ive seen as little as 180 miles out of a tank when realliy getting into the boost alot. A bad tune up such as bad 02's, bad wires, spark plugs , fuel filter will all lead to decreased MPG more then most mods will.

The MAF should help a little. I put a 80mm Pro-M on mine a little while ago, but had to do away with the CAI cus they don't work together. I didn't notice hardly any gains, but I also lost my CAI at the same time. That was back when my timing was way off too, so I'm sure that didn't help any. But I've heard you can pick up maybe 10 horses out of a new MAF.

well i've got some tune up parts in the mail, that will hopefully even out my gas milage, i'm not really worried about it, and now way am i not going to spend money on mods

I think i might wait till i get the new motor, to worry about a maf, and gears.
