I have a 2003 gt and my mechanic says I need a vapor control valve tube assembly, part #xr3z9c047db. He says the dealership told him it was an obsolete part and he doesn't know where to find one. This part connects to the top of the tank near the fuel pump assembly and internet pictures show it to be blue plastic. Can anyone help help me find one?

If no one has one then the junkyard is your best option.

It looks more and more that a trip to the junkyard may be in order. Can anyone give me a heads up on how to remove and install the part from the gas tank without breaking it since its plastic?

More than likely when dealing with a salvage yard you may be wise to just take the entire gas tank.
