Thank for the join. I was hoping for some help with my new/ old purchase. I bought a 68 Mustang coupe with an inline 6. The confusion around IMCO, load amatic, SCV, Duraspark has got me wondering. It has a Carter RBS (Non SCV ?) and it does not have a load o matic dist. best I can tell. I have some pictures, perhaps someone can tell me what I have and what I need. The fella I bought it from said it was running 8 or 10 years ago and was just parked. He was just a kid then and couldn't telll me anything about performance.

I dont know if there are any terms for the distributor, but it's just a points distributor. Duraspark is the system they went to after the old points distributors that designated electronic ignition, so that term is a non-issue in this case. I don't recall when that change was made, but if memory serves it was in the early to mid 70s.

Carb is a Carter RBS used on 1970 and newer 250 6-cylinder engines. Not a bad carb but can have a somewhat weak accelerator pump system. This is not a load-o-matic design carb. Is the engine a 200 or 250?
