Hey all! I am new to the forum, but have had my 97 GT for 10 years and it is time to put a new motor in it. Was looking at doing the 5.4 swap but apparently the intake manifold needed is no longer in production. I have read also that the adapter plates mess with the fuel delivery. So it appears another 4.6 is in order. I want to stay N/A. I definitely want to do the Trick Flow heads with a nice thumping cam like the Comp Cams 270's. Any help or advice is appreciated!

Are you wanting to build your current motor or drop in a "crate" engine?

I was thinking of building a 5.4, but I heard about the intake manifold speed bump. I ended up deciding to pull my existing 4.6 and have the bottom end sent to the machine shop to be checked out and rebuilt. Once I get it back I will be throwing the Trick Flow heads on with the Comp Cam 270's. Should be a fun motor for the 97!

Pulled the motor last night It ran great. No knocks or tapping. Going to send off to the machine shop to make sure the block and rotating assembly is good to go for Trick Flow heads and stage 3 cams )))))

Not bad for 300k!

Yes sir! I hope the rotating assembly looks just as good for it's age!
