Your putting a new motor, and it's only a 302
Im sure it's way nicer than the stock, but as long as youre doing it, why not something with more power?

This is a daily driver so I want something reliable.. also I am already sproting out about 5k.. and I don't have the time or money to build a new motor from the ground up.. plus once the Vortec is on there.. that will be plenty powerfull enought for me

Why are you putting on a King Cobra when you already have a SPEC? What type of compression does that motor make? Are you running forged or hypereutectic pistons?

First, I didnt realize that you were going to put the Vortech back on so YES, there is plenty of power.

Second, cost IS an issue but I dont think reliability should be. I cant really see and differences in reliability with a 302 or new 306.

If I start having engine problems with my blower, I may sell it, and use the difference in $$ to get a 347 long block good for about 450 HP. That way, Im only spending $3-4k TOTAL (after selling blower) and I have MORE power with a N/A motor. everything between my lower intake and headers is STOCK, so if I have to start taking it apart for a ring, a pisting a crank, etc, and spending 300 here $400 there, I may as well just drop a brand new motor in with AFR 185's and have basically a BRAND NEW car, since my interior and body are still in excellent shape.

GOOD LUCK
RC

Sounds good balderman, same engine i had before. (well i still have the lower end). It should be real nice with the blower on there. Only thing i really dont like is the gt40 intake, i would deff change that to an edelbrcok rpm, or trickflow track heat, not flaming, but it will not be well suited with the SC.

Swinginline - it comes with hyper pistons.
