Hi everyone... just installed my new Energy Suspension motor mounts & the engine now sits at a different angle & is at least an inch higher. Is this ok? Other than some hood clearence issues with my ram air inlets, the car seemed to run & drive fine. Anyone know the reasoning behind re-adjusting the height / angle of the motor? Just wondering what the deal was.

I had the same problem, but more of a situation. I tried to install headers on my 83, and they wouldn't fit. The passanger side header was hitting the frame. Well, come to find out, the motor mounts were bad and were making the motor sit at the wrong angle and too low. Sound like your problem? lol. When I installed new mounts, it sat higher and at a different angle, and the header fit.

Sounds more like Stang8URMPRT said. The olds ones were probably worn out and sitting lower than the new ones.

You guy's are probably right. ( the factory mounts were totaly hacked, 140k miles ) The pisser is... with my aftermarket hood & ram air ducting, I'm having clearence issues now. The duct attatched to the hood is hitting the top of the intake, fender mounted air box, & the upper radiator hose. Guess I just have to do some tweaking / cutting / drilling! Thanks for your imput!
