the liner on the inside of my hood is falling apart. i don't want it to mess up my engine because its gunna be all nice and clean can i just take it off and not use one?

I think that's it. He's got a shiny new motor, and doesn't want to mess it up with the old hood liner.

Matt, are you just worried about pieces of the hood liner falling on your motor? Unless you're running a carb, it couldn't cause any damage to the engine internally.

I don't see why you couldn't take it off, old cars didn't have them. I asume it's insulation for sound or something like that.

I took mine off for the same reason. Two years now and no paint blistering or discoloration...they really serve no purpose...take it off! NO MORE DUST!

less weight, better looking and it will help keep that new engine cooler anymore other reasons to remove anybody?
