New motor weird noise....

we got my new motor in today and it started making a clinking noise that sounded like it was coming from the valve cover. I started talking to some people and they said that since i put a .512 lift cam in there it is making my rocker arms hit the baffles is this possible? thanks

Oh yeah I had to grind mine down today when I did the install cause the covers wouldn't even sit right..worked well but a pain in the ass. I put my motor in and had some serious tapping..my fear was having to tear her apart then start over, but it sorted it self out after about 3-4 minutes running.

check the exhaust bolts too, sometimes a header leak will sound like a rocker tapping...

well we pulled off the valve covers today and there are no valve caps on the valves, causing the rocker arms to be loose as hell. That is what was tapping around. The maching shop is getting a nice call in the morning. Do these just slide on? or do they require head removal?

stock heads? there arent any..

ok i found out that my rocker arms are totally worn out so i have to get new ones are PROFORM ones good brand i cant afford FMS ones
