As some of you may know i bought a new motor off ebay.

It is a 69 block, It was line bored and decked and it was deck plate bored and honed.
The rods are forged h-beam rods
The crank is forged.
The pistons are hyp. 10:1 :notnice: (Builder said they would be good because it was for a streeet car)
The heads are ported trickflow twisted wedge
X Cam
Trick Flow R intake
42 lb injectors
80mm MAF
with a Wind Jammer Blower..
Tuned for premium fuel making approx 775 w/4lbs of boost

All major parts are new with the exception of about 200 miles on a street car.

Should i try to resell it, or i have thought about tearing it apart and putting some good forged 8.5:1 pistons in it and probably getting a main girdle for it... Which means i would have to take the pistons in and have them matched up weight wise with the hyp. ones. Try to make a 900-1000 horse engine out of it?

I have even thought about tearing it down and selling the short block, then the heads, the intake, and the blower all seperatly.

If i did keep it, what should i do with it? I have a blown 331 that i haven't even got to really drive yet... Even thought are cars don't get along to well with cams, I did notice that my FTI cam actually is a little bigger then the x cam on lift and duration i believe...

What would you do if you were me... I drive my car all throughtout the warm weather months as a daily driver...

IF it was me.. I would put the 418 in and run it n/a (if its enough power for you) or swap the pistons for something low compression and run some more boost. The s trim brackets will bolt up to the 351 correct? If so, i would toss the s trim on there and sell the old engine(331)..

I like the idea of the 418 being fuelie and n/a though. Maybe get a new cam for it and see how much power she can muster up. I would guess 500 shouldnt be a problem. Plus dont you have a n20 kit too??

Man you have way to much go fast stuff!

1) Take them junk pistons out and give them to the trash man. Get some FORGED 8:1 pistons.
2) Do the same with the X-cam. Get a nice blower cam.
3) Bolt the S-Trim up to that. If you have to modify it, then do it - make it fit.

Thats something i will have to find out, is if the brackets from my s-trim would fit. Hum i never even thought about that. Get some lower compression pistons and put about 10 or more lbs of boost to it... With it girdled and and a new custom cam it should be making some major power fairly safely...

I think for now im going to get use to my car first... I may find out that i have reached more power then traction already. But it always seems that if i drive it long enough that the power that i do make just doesn't satisfies me for very long...

I sold my N20 kit when i bought the blower... It was a dry kit, and i had a stock block so i figured there was no need for it anymore..

if it was me, I would put that dream engine in my stang. Sell the 331,and depending which blower is better (wind jammer vs. S-trim) sell one. If your really into the racing scene which I think you are. Stay with the 418 man. Its not often you get such a great deal for such a beast.
