I just got a new Mustang GT 02, auto, all stock and i was wondering, what would be the best modifications to go with, i got $1500, gears?, filter?, cat-back?, what would be the best modifications to start out with, thx guys :hail2:

i would say, Gears first mod. they cost around 175 and like 250 for installation....then i would make the car sound bad ass get a Bassani X Pipe with a nice sounding catback go to mustangexhaust.com...then if u got a couple extra bucks ..... drop it with H&R's and get like an intake or pullies :)

thx, i forget also to say i would go for mostly power mods in the begining since i have an automatic, thx for the help n i really dontknow much bout this stuff so if u guys could be specific haha, thx n sorry for all the questions im a newbie

i have an automatic also.....if u want performance....look into the gears...our cars are gears with 3.27's to save gas and restrict the performance a bit.... i got 3.73's cuz i ride highway alot to san diego from LA but if u dont plan on doing a bunch of highway and stuff get 4.10's go to this site to look at the gears. partshopper.com....im sure all these guys are gunna give you all kinds of sites to look into ...i cant wait to get my 3.73's installed and my bassani catted X :) this x pipe is gunna make my car sound awesome

if it wer me and I had an auto I would do this in the following order...

1. 26-2800 stall converter with shift kit for the auto

2. at least a catback and then a off road mid pipe...and if you have the money headers

The stall converter and shift kit will drop big chunks of time off of your ET's if you run the car. It will make it alot more fun to drive and beef up your tranny at the same time. If you do that and put exhaust on it....minus the headers due to money issues....you will enjoy your car a whole lot more....

I would go with this:

FRPP 4.10's via Summit with price match = $140
friction modifier = $15
gear oil = $20
installation = $180

Superchips Microtuner (adjust timing, shift points, fix speedo for gears, etc..) = $400

o/r X Pipe = $150 (self install)

weld in straight through style mufflers
$160 for mufflers
$75 welding/install

$60 left over for 2 tanks of 93 octane gas @ 10 mpg for having fun with all your new hp.

my .02. gears. then send to t&J and have them bump the timing and recal. cost $200 but save you some coin over a useless microtuners that cost $400 and do the same thing. then on too exhaust. vrs stainless x-pipe $250 to the door. then a stainless catback. borla stinger, magnaflow/magnapack

gears $350
recal $200
x-pipe $250
borla stinger,mangnaflow $450

this will give you power, great sound and quality parts all the way through.
