How much drop?

I agree. It may not be desireable for the restore people, but the performance side will love it. There are way cool mods like drop spindles for a lot of the Chebbies but I don't see any for our early Fords. Imagine, a drop spindle that fits Mustangs, Falcons, Comets, Cougars, Rancheros, etc. I had an idea to take a granada spindle, chop it up and put it back together with the spindle pin located higher on the turn buckle, lowering the car. I understand its not that simple but to keep a long story short. I'm not bunking your idea, you are pioneering, I'm just brainstorming. I like your idea.

I'll consider it, but a drop spindle based on Granada design is not simple. The drop would require a redesign of and reorientation between the steering knuckle and caliper bracket. Also, I assume that those who want a drop spindle also want an upgrade of the caliper, i.e. 4 piston. This would require additional redesign of the bracket. As it is you can buy a Granada based drop spindle from Fat Man Fab for $529. Mine would be more like $300.

In any case a drop spindle will need to wait until the 65-73, and 65-66 specific spindles are finished. Thanks everyone for your advise and encouragement. And for those stoics out there that are going to cast and machine spindles in their garage, my hat is off to you!
