New PA Alternator noisy...normal?

I went through a big hassel just to get the correct alt from them and now i've had it on the car and driven it for about 75 miles and it whines almost like a s/c. Its a chrome stock amp replacement. Anyone else had problems with PA alts making noise? Should i give it more time to break in? I a little ticked cause it ended up costing me over $400 to get this thing after all kinds of ordering problems and now it whines and sounds like crap.

I have had 3 of their 3g 130amp alternators on my 88 and none of them have ever had noise problems. I would send the thing back, once alternators start to make noise it just gets worse.
