Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR formerly Moroso) just reopened this weekend and I was able to make it out to try out the new surface. I managed to make 4 passes although I'm sure I could have gotten about 20 in if I wanted to hot lap. First three passes all had about an hour in between them and the last pass was 3 hours later. The track was hooking great right off the bat, which was a big surprise for most.

In the past I was only able to leave the line about 1800 RPM and cut 1.98's on the 18" nitto DRs I was running. Saturday however I was able to leave about 2500 RPM and cut a best of a 1.88 60 foot. Last pass of the day with a DA of 1832' I went 12.05 @ 118.46 w/1.90 60ft, which was a new best MPH and ET for me. Rest of the day my best MPH was 117.40 so the long cool down helped out a ton. Unfortunately with the supercharger it just soaked up heat and takes forever to properly cool down.

Before anyone mentions anything this is a 3700lb street car (with driver), no weight reduction, Eibach pro kit, front and rear Eibach sway bars, 18x9, 18x10 wheels basically set up for handling not for the strip. Tires are 305/35/18 Nitto DRs at 25psi. The car can go alot faster once setup for it but for now it's pretty nice to just pull in and make some passes and go home without having to do anything to get it ready. I will be making some changes so it can with stand harder launches and be track legal while keeping it a nice daily driver.

Very nice man:nice:

Ya it must be nice to just roll over to the strip and get some runs in whenever you want(release some stress, etc:D ); and run almost 11's in full street trim:jaw:. Thats awsome man, great work on the car!

One of these times, you should get some really good DR's, lower pressure. weight reduction, etc. and show us what you can REALLY do. I bet your car is easily good for mid-low 11's .

Also, on your sold GT, what did you have on it?? I mean were you spraying with bolt-on's? Major engine work? Those are some amazing times for that much hp/torque. I am Not knocking you in ANY WAY, I was just wondering how much work you put into it to get those times.....so I can do the same:D

anyways, very nice Mach 1:hail2:

peace bro,

No power adders, no major engine work. Lots and lots of time and effort went into it. Major mods were longtubes, pulleys, O/R X pipe, bullitt intake, VT stage 1 cams, Crower stage 2 valve springs, home made air intake w/open ended filter, tuned. Race weight was 3150lbs (that's with me in the car) or about 300lbs of weight reduction. 4.30 gears, 31 spline axles, spool, all solid UPR rear suspension and tubular K-member, 26" slicks and 6800 RPM launches. Heads and bottom end were untouched. Best time came with a 1.58 60 foot so as you can see alot of it was suspension, weight and driver.

no need to justify the setup, Bill.

I think most of us know that you know how to drive. :D

How's the other car coming? Any plans on building the rear and suspension to the Mach 1? I bet it would make a 10 second pass with the power it's already making.

Until I get a new job the other car will be sitting except for body work, which I'm saving to do untill I'm actually unemployed when I'll have lots of spare time.

As for the Mach 1 I have a 31 spline diff for it and just need to buy axles then I'll get everything welded up (rear end, torque boxes and subframes). I'd like to also get a set of double adjustable uppers so I can properly set up the rear. Also have a friend helping me put in a 5pt roll bar. I agree with the above mods, a set of drag wheels, slicks and maybe a couple of other weight reduction mods I think I could break into the 10's without messing with the engine setup.

what RPM are you crossing at? With a good DA and some weight out of the car, I would think you would be right at 121-122mph? Does that sound right?

5800-5900 RPM through the traps. I can go higher but I'm shifting the car at 6400 and prefer to keep the RPMs down (stock bottom end). I have 3.73s in it and thought about 4.10s but I won't be staying at this power level for too long.

The DA at the time of my pass was 1832', corrected that pass was a 11.81 @ 120.87. I'm probably only going to be able to get about 100-150lbs out of the car without sacrificing any luxuries but that would get the car into that range. Also the picked up 1 MPH from sitting in the sun with the hood down. With a proper cool down it should pick up a little more.

Didn't want to start another thread but I hit the track last night as we had some great weather and first pass I finally got into the 11's. I went 11.93 @ 119.78 w/ 1.89 60 foot. Rest of the night the track surface started getting cold (two wrecks and some breakage) and traction became an issue so I didn't get to back it up but did manage a couple 120MPH passes.
