Alright I got this 1992 Mustang Convertible GT back in Feb for $900. Body was so clean i couldn't pass it up. Just needed a transmission and fuel sending unit. Only thing i hate is SALVAGE TITlE

I finally got around and found a used tranny at the junkyard for $135 but really $100 becuase they give you $35 back when you return the old one.
Took me about 3days and 12 hours to change the transmission. I didn't have any help and this was my first time takin one out an putting it in. My bro-n-law showed me how to remove it at the junkyard. Anyways here it is.

Its hard to find clean 5.0's especially at the price i got it for. I want to keep and make it 5speed, But the only thing that makes me want to sale is the salvage title.

What would you do?

the blue book value on fox mustangs is so much lower than the actual market value that totaling our cars out is not an uncommon thing... i would base my judgement on the extent of the damage: frame damage is usually where i would draw the line, for me a car just never feels the same after having the frame tweaked...

if it was just cosmetic damage or expensive body work like rear quarter panels i would fix the car back to where you want it and drive it like you stole it (because you basically did for $900)

Lol. Yea my bro was like if you dont get it i am cuz thats a steal. So i got it an been driving it the past 5 days with no problems.

Yea i wouldn't keep it if it had frame damage. S*** i wouldnt even drive it. I take the engine out an find a body for it.

When i did the transmission i looked for frame damage when i was down there. Everything was straight.
