Hey all-
We just launched a new site for the Hot Rod Mustangs we're building -- check it out!

The first two projects are '67s with all-modern drivetrain, suspension, etc, and a lot of inspiration drawn from the hot rod industry.

(not jumping on the Eleanor bandwagon either)

I haven't been able to find a good forum for in-depth hot rod and restomod info so I'm attempting to start one. I'd love for it to become a place to discuss cutting-edge Mustang modifications.

Check out the site and forums and let me know what you think!

relax...

A) I'm not advertising my site -- just wanted to get the word out to other Mustang guys and get the community involved.

B) I don't see it is a competing forum at all. Show me where exactly on here I can find a discussion area for this specific topic -- that's why I am trying to start a new forum. There is nowhere on there for general Mustang discussion.

geesh...

I am a member on several forums and open many pages at once to view threads on each.
I don't really see them as competing for me. If it is a board I like, they have me.
If there are 4 I like, they all have me.
If a board sucks, it is not because the others I am viewing at the same time... the board just sucks.
Thank you for letting me know about a new forum I can view along side this one.
If either ever gets to a point where it sucks, I won't blame it on the other.
Dave

This exact stuff gets discused here everyday. I will stick where the people already hangout, no need to see the same question asked at yet another forum.

A) What the hell do you call it then? advertise = "get the word out"

B) Apparently you haven't been on this forum for any period of time. NOTHING you are proposing HAS NOT been discussed HERE BEFORE. "Restomods" is pretty much all we talk about here ( with a few "purists" discussions sneaking in). Mod swaps, 6 speeds, efi, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical, etc, etc, etc....... You may want to browse a bit before passing an ignorant judgement.

Sorry, but I find it disrespectful to peddle your site on someone elses. We've had many of your type come and go while good ole' SN serves us well.

Question still remains: would you mind people loggin on just to advertise their site or competing forums?

Dave(Ratio),
I too belong to many forums, relating to many topics, but you must agree that this guy didn't even check out this forum. He just logged on to advertise. Why not contribute the knowlede here? $ ?

Looks like another troll that needs to be banned like the insurance moron yesterday. Is someone else going to notify the mods or do I do it again?

What is up with this place?

Well, excuuuuuuuuuse me!

You know what? Never mind. Forget about it.

I've learned enough already to not want anything to do with you guys. If it makes you feel better to flame me, go for it. Keep the thread alive and flame on!

Absolutely absurd.

You come here and make three posts. The first I have no idea about. The second is to promote your site. The third is to tell us we are absurd. What other conclusion are we supposed to arrive at? You obviously are not a part of this community and you are using it to start one of your own. If you had been contributing here for months and decided to start a forum on your own site that would/might be one thing but that isn't the case. It looks like the only reason you are here is to advertise.

I guess you are absurd.

BTW...don't bother spamming VMF either because you will receive the same reception.

Dude -- I'm sorry I acted in a way as to upset you so badly. It's not like I have some massive competing forum and I'm spamming this place to try and suck business away or something. I just basically started a little message board as an afterthought to my site. We're building some cool stuff and thought you guys might be interested. Like I said, never mind. Forget about me.

I've been an active member on other forums for entirely other interests and know what treatment n00bs get, especially when it appears that they're just trying to exploit the place, so I can't really blame you. I'm a Mustang guy like the rest of you who has been building cars for 16 years and just hasn't been active on this forum.

Go to the admins, get me banned, whatever. I'm sure they'll be happy to know you're driving off new members who may have a lot to contribute to the community.

Contribute to the community....that is fine. I'm not going to get you banned but the mods might decide that themselves. Make posts sharing neat stuff, but don't make your first post in 4 months one that says "hey, come to our great site we are doing great things and have a forum too". Use this forum and let us decide if what you are doing is something new.

I see where you're coming from. Sorry for the bad first impression.

Anyway, did you check out the site?

Well, I looked at your site. You look like a business to me but I could be wrong. NO offense but everybody and I mean everybosy is doing the stuff I see on your site these days. Shelby clones are boring IMHO. Mustang II front suspensions are getting common and all the other goodies have been done also. I'm not saying you aren't doing neat stuff and don't have something to contribute...I'm sure you do...but do it here as this is where we all are!!!!!

Don't get me wrong....it looks like you are doing some nice work and others here are doing similar things and more opinions make for a better result. It is just a little upsetting when it seem like someone is coming here to exploit someone else's hospitality.

Yes, it's a business. I am not trying to disguise that. I am not here trying to sell cars though -- I do that through entirely different, and more appropriate, channels. Just trying to get a little traffic going, that's all. I make no money off of clicks or page views or advertising or anything like that.

Anyway, 'nuff said. This is getting beaten to death. I'll see you around the board.
