new quadrant and pawl?

i've had problems with my clutch cable over the last few weeks. it started when the first one accidentally was resting on my header and burned threw. then i put a factory replacement cable on and drove on it for about 20 miles. i kinked it and stripped the old quadrant and pawl. so i bought from a recycler an old quadrant and pawl setup and yet another factory cable. it drove fine for about 100 miles then the quadrant and pawl are slipping again. the cable is absolutly fine. when i try to reattach the cable at the fork i have to pull on the cable pretty hard to get it moving but then it seems fine. a friend told me that my clutch is probably is bad but i don't buy it. do i just need a aftermarket pawl and quadrant?

There is no aftermarket pawl I know of, just get a billet quadrant and a firewall adjuster and you should be good. The factory stuff, aside from their exceptional cables, are junk and this is what happens to them. Get the billet stuff, lasts forever.
