Got a new radiator for christmas!!!!

Anyway, so I should be putting that in tomorrow.

My heater doesn't work so well. The heater core isn't leaking or anything, and I was told by somebody on here once (sorry, can't remember who) that I should flush it to make sure there aren't any air pockets stuck up there. Seems that while replacing the radiator would be an ideal time to do that.

So... flushing the heater core.

Technique? Steps?

Other stuff I should be careful of?

Thanks all...

Before I installed a new radiator I took a hose and ran water through the system, just to flush out the old coolant. You really need to check your vacuum controls as your heater control valve may not be opening fully and that could affect how much heat you get from your core.

A simple and effected way to flush your heater core if it is plugged up is to dissconnect your heater hoses and switch them around. After that I would suggest going down to a oil change/tune up shop and getting a coolent flush.
