New Shock/Strut advice

My new (to me) '87 LX hatch is in dire need of new shocks/struts. Still has the originals and they're totally shot.

I put the KYB kit (2 GR2 struts, 2 GasAdjust shocks and 2 quadshocks) from late model restoration on my '87 notch, and they seemed to be a good choice.

Since my car is basically going to be 'optimized stock', I'm thinking these would be a good choice for this car too.

Anyone have a better idea? I like Konis, but they are quite pricey.

I have the KYB AJX paired with 2001 bullitt springs and it's been a nice combo. I think once these are worn I'll go with bilisteins or maybe tokico blues. I think the AJX are nice choice for low cost/ entry level adjustable shock/strut, they do work and are better than stock.

Thanks for the advice the KYB adjustables.

I think I'm gonna go with the Tokico blues and they KYB quads. The blues are little firmer than the GR2/gas-adjusts, and I really don't need an adjustable shock right now. (Maybe in the future, if I decide to turn it into a road racer, but then I'd consider a coil-over set up.)
