I have a 5sp 2002 Mustang GT and I love the drivin fast and take turns pretty quick. But I want better turning but i heard that if u add new springs you can make your handling worse is this a possibily?

what alot of people will do is buy the stiffest race springs they can find with the lowest drop (2 in.+) and think that will automatically improve handling, it doesn't.

a super stiff race spring will restrict needed suspension travel and actually reduce cornering ability, so yes, it is a "possibily"

buy some FRPP, H&R, Eibach or other quality springs AND shocks/struts and you should be ok. whatever you do stay away from those eBay specials

BUT...

before you order yourself some springs i'd suggest this first

Nothing can be worse then the handling of a stock Gt IMO.

X2 for the H&R's

They have many different packages to choose from. They have just springs, and they have spring/strut/shock kits. They specifically match springs and shocks for the ultimate stance, look, and handling. I would add a set of new poly isolators as well..the stock ones hold up well on the top, but the bottom isolators wear quickly, I have seen many that were worn out.

You also may want to look into offset rack busings and or a bump steer kit. You don't want bumps in the road to control your steering.

I just put a set of Eibach ProKit on mine. It lowered the car about an inch and the new springs are progressive rate and a little stiffer. It feels stiffer and has less body roll but I keep reading I should also get new shocks to get the most benefit.

What do you guys think of the Bullitt suspension package? Will it help our cars keep up with/beat nimbler cars like the Acura RSX and the Honda Prelude in the turns?
