My question is if the mid pipe required some minor work to be able to accomodate the sub frames, does that mean that the stock H may not fit well should you have to re-install it for any reason (emissions, selling the car, etc). Not trying to be negative, but since I'm really interested in sub frames like the ones you have, I'd like to know so that once I put in my MAC O/H (I know I kep saying that but I WILL put it on soon ) I'm aware of any issues should I need to go back to the stocker. overkill on welding subframes? is that possible? i suppose its all preferance, however i would make any optional welding manditory welding. why spend the money any only 1/2 install? though maybe i'm alone on this one.
I think one thing that is being overlooked here is that no matter how much welding you do between the subframe connectors and the subframe, the subframes themselves are merely spot welded to the floor pan. This is not a case of more is better. This is the reason the directions say "If so desired".

Read what I said again Yes, the subs are welded to the frame rail. The frame rail is merely spot welded to the floor pan and up the firewall. There is no stich welding holding the frame rails to the body, it is all done with spot welds. Crawl under your car and take a look for yourself.
Ahh..gotcha. Keep in mind though that the rails run all the way forward so they have more structure than the floorpan. You could remove the floorpan entirely and still have a solid car (with SFC's of course)

I am just skeptical of the need for the extra stitch welding. MM doesn't seem to think it is critical. Sure, it can't hurt anything and I usually like to err on the side of caution myself so I probably would do it.
Actually I have a set of MM FL SFCs on order as well as a set of KB jacking rails. Going to have them installed at Modular Powerhouse in Atlanta. Never done business with them before but, others seem to have nothing but good things to say about them.

Well, he said he had to shift the midpipe to the left (driver's side) and then still had to bend the heat shield of the driver's side cat a little bit. I wasn't there so I really don't have any idea whether this would present a problem with the OEM midpipe, but I highly doubt it.
I am quite comfortable with the amount of welding done here. The instructions were followed to the letter, and, as I said, if I was anywhere near 11 seconds, I'd consider it. My axles will break way before these welds.
