I read through the old throttle body thread and I haven't seen any info since BBK has re-released the 62mm TB. Anyone have new info about the quality of the TB's now?

Do they still have the gear problem?

I bought the BBK and this one is great. The gears are plastics and the movement and motion of the throttle is very smooth. BBK did their homework.

In 05' a mustang rag did a test with IIRC a 10hp gain with just the BBK 62mm TB. If you go up to BBK's web site they have the article on the site.

I'm thinking of going for the trifecta- BBK 62mm TB, BBK UDP's, and BBK shortie tuned lengthed headers.

I'm hoping those three will get me to 330rwhp!! Only 21hp to go.

The bbk gained the horsepower with their intake. From postings here on this forum, when you add a C&L type intake with a tuner, you net the same hp with or without the throttlebody. It seems that if you go with the intakes that don't require a tune, you get an increase, but it goes away when you step into the larger mass air meter and tune.

hahaha that's not true a 10 hp gain no way not from the TB. the cpu will figure out more air in comming in an close the throttle plate. Only way you get 10hp is if they bump the time up a few degree's a TB should only be bought for looks on the S197.

I'm just pointing out what the article said. Not to believe it.

Thanks for that tid-bit seattlegt!

Here we go again, I tested the LFP throttle and you can search the other throttle body threads if you like.

SeattleGT brought up a good point. If you have a CAI (other than a BBK or I should say one that has a larger inlet tube) did you notice a performance difference with your LFP?

I debated bring this up again but because BBK pulled there and I see it being sold now I'm interested in new comments about the TB.

Okay, cool!!

I notice on a different post by you, you have a C&L (you have no signature line here, ???) which is very similiar to my JLT. What were you gains if you don't mind me asking (again if you posted in a different thread)?

I did get power from the LFP but I haven't put the bbk on the dyno. Send your LFP back for a refund, I called them and they said to send it back.
