Howdy fellow community members. This looks to be a great forum, thought I'd toss up two terrible cell phone pics of my 90 LX Hatch.

98K on everything... I plan on rebuilding the engine this winter... Which I'd like to ask some ideas about (a later thread maybe...). There is a KC clutch, Hurst shifter, BBK shorty headers, CAI, 70mm TB, Electric Fan, upgraded alternator, 17's on Black Cobra wheels and a nice 4x4 stance (got some springs I'll be putting on, soon I hope) and some other junk... I'm just glad that I found a nice Fox to enjoy!

Welcome, looks nice! Is that a white stripe I see down the center? Or is that the light reflecting?

White stripe, you are correct! I will try and get some better pics of the car, the rain has been on and off today... I guess this is the 25th Anniversary car??? At least, there is a pony logo by the glove box that says that... I'm almost positive that this is a second (or maybe even third) paint jobber... Not to great of one either... I'm kind of thinking a black stripe would set off the wheels better, but I don't know... And thanks for the welcome! Hope I can post some semi-useful comments...

I also failed to mention that the hood looks to be aftermarket too, as it's fiberglass... I like how it is lighter then steel and the two openings in the front look pretty cool as well!

Does the hood have hood pins on it? Being that it is fiberglass, you will want some for safety sake if you don't have them already (I can't see any).

Ford put that logo on all Mustangs made from April '89 to April '90. So no, there isn't a "25th anniversary model"....they all have that

That is a VERY good idea and I didn't even think of that... I'll have to ask my old man if he has any spares from his Torino... Or maybe I'll just order a new pair... Thank you for that!

Thanks man, yeah, I agree, some red neck got a little too happy with the paint brush... When I pull the engine, we're getting back to basic colors, like aluminum...

Those wheels look awesome. The paint looks really nice, too, but you can see it better than I can. Great find!

Thanks man, yeah, for the most part the re-spray is okay, from a distance (15ft maybe) it looks nice, but when you come up close, thers is some chips and weirdness, the worst being above the drivers door... I will have to post some better pics when I get the chance... I was just happy to find a car that was not all rusty and beat on... It is a good place to start, mod and make nice, etc...

I've had the "hood on the windshield" experience, and I wouldn't wish it on anybody. lol

I know what you mean. It seems like half of them I see on the road look like they've been rolled. That or they're all Bondo and primer. Worse than ricers with Civics.

I'm sure that would scare the HELL out of anyone... Plus, it'd be a major bummer to drop into the 15ft deep ditches around here... Glad you didn't get hurt!!!

I hear you brother! Yeah, my car is going to need a little body help. I'll have to post some better pics, the sun is shining right now and I might get the car out of the garage and snap a few... I looked at about 6 mustangs and they were pretty beat before I found this one... The absolute worst is talking to a seller over the phone and them not being honest with you... Then you drive HOURS to see the car only for the seller to be like "oh yeah, I guess it does have a little rust... oh, yeah, the shock towers are not the great I guess..." Oh well... My car ain't perfect, but it will not need too much to make it nice again... and I think for new guys / gals out there looking to score a nice stang (heck, any used car) need to take there time and do a HARD look at everything...

Congrats on the new car! I feel like I've seen this car before. Was it posted on this site? Where did you pick it up? Man, looks really familiar with that red intake and those blue accents. Just can't figure it out...brain is getting too old.

Thank man, yeah, I wish that I had more history on the car... I am sure that is has had a few owners. I bought the car from a guy south of Toledo, Ohio and he had the car for 6 years or so... And then I really do not know much of the history other then the orginal owner of the car was from this area. At least that is what I was told from a few people that have seen the car after I bought it. I wish that I knew more about it however... But that is the way it goes with used stuff...

Haha! Spot on. I had this experience a couple of months ago. The thing was literally rusting in half.

A neighbor friend of mine wants to trade some computer junk for his old 90 GT. Which I told him that I would... So now I will have a parts car. That is pretty much the only thing that the car is good for since the frame is supposed to be pretty bad. The car has also been out side for the past 5 years... Needless to say, I am sure that it will come in handy, since my car has these stupid shaved door handles and the electric poppers do not open the door correctly... So I am thinking about swapping doors some time in the near future... But, long story short, you are correct man, it is getting harder and harderto find a decent rust free stang, without driving far south or far west...
