Hey everyone,

New to this site as of today..

I just purchased a 94 GT rag top a few weeks ago. Its a 5 speed, pretty basic GT for the most part. It needs some TLC for sure. I'm about to go out of town for a while and while I'm gone I want to put the car in a shop and let them do an overhaul on in.

I would like to do a motor/ trany build. I don't know much of anything about Stangs so I need your help if you can give it. I know these cars don't produce that much power at all, in fact, most cars are slow to me since I ride sport bikes pretty much all the time. Any who, I would like to do something different rather than put money into bikes. I want to keep car street able, but at the same time, if someone pulls up next to me, I would like to give them hell considering the fact I would use this car a few days a week.

What would you guys consider me doing for a build????
between 1500 to 2500 bucks what parts should I buy for my motor?
between 5000 to 9000 bucks what motor should I buy and why?
What about the trans???
What about the rear end?
What about suspension?
Exhaust??? I want something loud but tuned.

I know I'm asking a lot, but this is my first time doing something like this and I dont know many car guys anymore like I use to.
Also if you know of any performance shops near Alabama or in Alabama let me know!

Thank you for reading my post. I will respond ASAP as needed.

If you have to pay someone do the work for you, at $80 an hour you're not going to get many go fast goodies for you money. The labor costs will quickly eat up you budget for go fast parts.

All of the serious guys here do their own wrench work and farm out things that they are not equipped to do like machine shop work, balancing and some engine assembly.
