I just picked up a roller 347 for my 65 to replace the 289.

The shortblock is already built, now I just need to put everything else on, my question is what do I need to torque down the dog bones and spider too? and should I use locktite as well?

Also, with a roller cam I have been told that I dont need to break it in the same way you would break-in a non-roller cam, is this correct?

thanks

i have never torqued the spider down, or used locktite. There is no need to break a roller cam in.

+1. just snug it down and call it good. no grease or anything to worry about in break in. just fire it up and your ready to rock!

i picked up a book on building strokers (I plan on building one soon) an they used loctite on the spider bolts to be save. cheap insurance if nothing else.
