Hi everyone,

This is my first post with stangnet.com. My dad spent about 3 years restoring a '66 teal mustang. He passed away unexpectedly, way to young, and left the car to me and my brother. We are trying to figure out what the car is worth, being fully restored. He was very meticulous, and kept a record of EVERYTHING he did to the car (as a timeline). Anyways, it's a 289 automatic with a vinyl top. I know this is pretty long winded, but I wanted to get some advice. Thank you all!

Sorry for your loss...

I would try and find a local car aprasier, specifically one who deals in classic cars. That way you should get a very good idea of what it is worth and what level of insurance you should have on it. Also if its professionaly appraised and something happens to it, you wont have to fight as hard with the insurance company for the full value.

And welcome to Stangnet!

That's a great idea. I love the car, and insurance is exactly what I'm looking at. It's been sitting in the garage for sometime and WANTS to be driven. Thank you for the advice!

Good looking 66 BTW!

Unfortunately my family found this out first hand when our 66 Caprice was stolen and chopped in the early 90s, fortunatly we had it apraised and got full value from the insurance company instead of what they wanted to offer which was insulting.
